About Him

Theo Hughes: the kind of extreme extrovert who kicks your front door down with an AK, hauls you up by the collar, flashes a giant grin and says, "Hi! Let's be friends."

A junior at Amity Sports University and a star of the varsity swim team. Striking and handsome. He looks lean, but he's all tight muscle, broad shoulders and long legs.

Big-hearted and bursting with sunshine. If he knows how to do something, he's the first to jump in; if he doesn't, he learns on the spot. He always sees what needs doing. Freshman year he met the aloof Wes Joyce and simply refused to leave him alone until Wes became his best friend.

His Life

Theo grew up in an ordinary, happy family. From his 80-year-old great-grandma down to his 8-year-old niece, not one of them has ever let a conversation die. Except Theo's big sister, the family's top scholar.

His sister picked his name. You'd think it was for something deep, like "still waters run deep"? Nope. She was hoping he'd take the hint and "hush."

Theo is sunny and warmhearted, with friends by the dozen. WeChat caps your friend list. Theo has no cap. He's dated a few times, and every one of them ended with the same line: "You're too popular. I don't feel secure."
