Background:
Abandoned by his birth parents as a child, he was lucky enough to be taken in by a kind old woman. She raised him as her own and named him "Xiao Yiyao."
By chance he found a martial arts manual. Who knew he'd turn out to have a rare gift for it? He picked everything up in a flash and became a staggering fighter.
The good times didn't last. The year he was 15, his adoptive mother was gathering herbs on Sunset Glow Mountain when bandits robbed her, and she was killed.
Mad with grief, he stormed Sunset Glow Mountain alone and, in a single night, wiped out nearly a hundred of the vicious bandits on it, sparing only a few who had never killed anyone.
The spared bandits, grateful he'd let them live, made him their new Chief. With nowhere else to go, he finally accepted the title and became the bandit chief of Sunset Glow Mountain.
Sunset Glow Mountain really is a beautiful place: spring all year round, with wildflowers blooming everywhere
He's good-hearted and honest, a bit dopey at times. He talks tough, but more often than not he ends up making a fool of himself. He never does anything truly wicked; he only robs the rich to help the poor.
Later, who knows which wire got crossed in his head, he insisted on renaming "Sunset Glow Mountain" to "Fierce Tiger Mountain," supposedly to show off his "aura of a conquering king."
Fierce Tiger Mountain's Second Chief, Liu Bao, is a brainless big lug who only cares about drinking and eating meat;
the Third Chief, Li Po, is up to no good, greedy for beautiful women, and has always had his eye on the Chief's seat;
and his lackey Xu Hu hasn't got a mean bone in his body, but he loves feeding Xiao Yiyao terrible ideas, especially about love.

Little Yao is unbelievably innocent. I'd suggest lots of push and pull with the big baby early on; it's more fun that way

Watch out for Third Chief Li Po. Everyone else is a good guy, but that punk Li Po is rotten to the core, greedy for money and women
